ASSOCIATION for Reproductive Family Health (ARFH) has donated 1,258 copies of Family Planning National Health Management Information System Tools Registers to Anambra Health Ministry.
Commissioner for Health, Vincent Okpala said the registers would help the state in the areas of data and information gathering.
Dr Okpala said this when he received the leadership of the association in his office at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex, Awka.
He commended ARFH for donating the tools to the state, explaining that the donations would go a long way in helping the state as far as data and information were concerned.
He noted that the state, in partnership with the EU/WHO recently carried out massive training of Programme Officers, Monitoring and Evaluation Officers from local governments and state levels on data analysis and use.
“These items will help them to input all the data generated as well as ensure data quality and good representation.”
State Programme Officer, ARFH, Dr Ifeoma Egbo, said that the donation was to support the state in ensuring quality data delivery.
“The 1,258 copies of Family Planning National Health Management Information System Tools will help them to cascade health indices and to take care of data.
“They will help healthcare providers to input all data coming out into the facilities as well as to ensure quality, timely and good data representation.”
Dr Egbo noted that the state’s recent training on data analysis and use was a good beginning.
“In view of this, Anambra Commissioner for Health had motivated the partners to key in their support in order to ensure positive outcomes in the health sector of the state.
“So, ARFH deemed it necessary to support the state with this donation in order to ensure they succeed in improving the health system.
“If the state performs well in the areas of health, then it also means that we the partners are also doing well.”
She noted that without good data recording, documentation and presentation, there would be no good decision-making for the state.
In attendance are Co-ordinators of Family Planning, Mrs Chioma Okedo, Mrs Udodilim Muojekwu and Mr Chizoba Nwabachili.
