UNICAL student commits suicide over N100,000 scam

A student of the University of Calabar, Miss Veroncia Bako, in the Department of History and International Studies has reportedly commit suicide after she was defrauded of N100,000

It was gathered that the late student fell for scammers on Friday morning who introduced her to an “investment scheme that will double her money”.

She had made a transfer of N100,000, being part of her school fees she was yet to pay before the COVID-19 closure of schools.

Feeling depressed after she discovered the ponzi scam, Veronica left a note of her suicide and consequently took sniper to end her life.
