THE Nigeria football federation has inaugurated the Anambra State football association caretaker committee to pilot the affair of sports in the next three months.
The inauguration ceremony which took place at Bon Hotel, Awka, was conducted by the president of the Nigeria Football Federation, Mr Amaju Pinnick who was represented by Alhaji Ibrahim Guzo Chairman Zamfara FA
The Committee has Dr. Emeka Okeke as its Chairman and Mr. Onyedika Chijioke as Secretary.
Other members of the board Committee include its Vice Chairman, Mr. Victor Nwangwu, Mr. Nonso Udala, Mrs. Charity Okonkwo and Mrs. Onyeabo Chimezie
Inaugurating the committee, the NFF chairman said that the committee members have a period of three months to conduct election for the Association.
Mr Pnnick explained that on the 2nd of May 2020, the former board was supposed to serve out its 4 year, adding that the pandemic ravaging the world made it difficult for the election.
While emphasizing that vaccum exists in Anambra Football Association as at 2nd August, 2020, said that they came to Anambra to observe the election process which supposed to take place on 22nd July 2020 but having recieved a letter by the COVID-19 committee, the election was suspended.
Mr Pinnick pledged to support the Caretaker Committee members to conduct election into the leadership of the Association within the stipulated time.
The Chairman of the caretaker committee , Dr Emeka Okeke assured that they will do their best to galvanize the Association and conduct election within the time frame.
The appointment letters were issued to members of the Caretaker Committee by the NFF President.
