ANGLICAN Bishop on the Niger, Rev. Dr. Owen Nwokolo has charged newly ordained priests in all the Christian denominations to embark on aggressive soul winning crusade for Jesus Christ in this end time so that the gate of hell will not prevail, just as he admonished Nigerians to always obey the government’s laid down preventive measures against Covid 19 spread in the country.
Giving this advice during a priestly ordination service of 31 new priests of the Anglican diocese, held at the Basilica of St Andrew Anglican Church, Odoakpu Onitsha, Monday, Bishop Nwokolo noted that in this era of the end time, that priests especially the newly ordained should stand firm in faith, work transparently as prophets, teachers, pastors, evangelists to win souls for Christ in all the corners of the world, adding that God is looking up to them to be his ambassadors that will build his kingdom on Earth.
Earlier in a sermon before the ordination proper, Venerable Okechukwu Ukpeke, an Anglican charismatic preacher reminded the new priests of the confidence reposed on them by the church authorities and the entire congregation to serve in God’s vineyard and warned them on the dangers of failing in their duty and character to God and humanity.
On his part, Ven Israel Odita, the venerable in charge of Onitsha South Anglican Archdeaconry and host of the priestly ordination, noted that as new priests, all eyes are on them to serve God and humanity and urged them to endeavour to live above board for the congregation to emulate them.
