ANAMBRA STATE Government has ordered the contractor handling the Amansea- Awa – Ndiukwuenu – Ufuma Road, back to site.
The Commissioner for Works, Marcel Ifejiofor made this known to journalists at the maiden edition of ‘Meet the Media held in Awka.
The commissioner who explained that the forum is to give more insight into the activities of the Obiano-led administration, assured that the government will complete all ongoing road projects in the state.
He noted that the engagement is geared towards informing the citizenry of the efforts of the governor on roads and other related infrastructure in Anambra State through the Ministry of Works.
Mr. Ifejiofor who maintained that Governor Obiano-led administration has focused on the construction of roads with high economic importance across the state, pointed out that a total of 77 road contracts have been awarded and ongoing in Anambra North, 72 roads in Anambra Central while 53 roads are in Anambra South Senatorial District.
He emphasised that the governor inherited and completed six bridges, and awarded 20, out of which eight have been completed with12 ongoing.
The commissioner assured that the present administration remains committed to completing many roads during the dry season.
The event attracted the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr James Eze, his deputy, Mr Emeka Ozumba, among other media stakeholders.
