NIGERIA Bar Association (NBA), Aguata branch has assured that the multimillion naira Bar center built by the late former Vice President, Dr. Alex Ifeanyichukwu Ekwueme will be upgraded and equipped to international standard.
The newly elected chairman of the Bar, Chief Jim Abel Oforma gave the assurance in his post election speech at the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Bar center in Aguata, adding that the decision is predicated of the fact that the late vice president was a staunch member of the association.
He said that beyond equipping the Bar center, much attention will be paid to unifying members of the association to engender brotherly love, while running an all-inclusive administration anchored on proper welfare for its members as well as offering free legal services to members of the public.
In their separate remarks, former chairman of the association, Chief Clifford Okoye, outgoing chairman, Prof.China Ubanyionwu and Chief Sylvester Oluoba a stakeholder in the association enjoined the new executives to live up to their expectations and improve on the achievements of their predecessor and work to improve the image of lawyers and the judiciary in the state and country.
Highpoint of the occasion was the swearing-in of the new executives by the Administrative Judge of Aguata judicial division, Justice Pete Obiora.
Among other officers of the Association were; Mr. Carl Ijebuonwu, Mrs. Elizabeth Anyaonu, Amaechi Okonkwo, Okpala Nzube, Samuel Obiekezie Ezeagu who were elected, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Financial Secretary, PRO respectively.
