Anambra calls for COVID-19 volunteers

ANAMBRA State Government, yesterday, called on medical doctors, nurses, laboratory scientists and technologists as well as pharmacists to join any of the teams of health professionals in the state to fight COVID-19 as volunteers.

  The call was made in a statement issued by the state’s Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, C. Don Adinuba, who said the call was to complement the efforts of health workers in the fight against COVID-19.

  The statement reads: “The Government and people of Anambra State appreciate the heroic efforts of teams of health professionals working tirelessly to combat the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in the state. Their efforts are nothing short of sacrificial.

To complement their efforts, the Anambra State Government is calling on medical doctors, nurses, laboratory scientists and technologists as well as pharmacists who would like to join any of the teams of health professionals in the State to fight COVID-19 as volunteers.

  “Interested persons are to contact the Ministry of Health at Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka. Or they may call the administrative assistant to the Hon Commissioner for Health, Mrs Chinyere Enike, on 0806 339 8622 or 0901 599 3584.”
