Orizu distributes palliatives to Nnewi wards
WIFE of the transition chairman, Nnewi North Local Government Area, Chinelo Orizu, has distributed palliatives to 10 political wards in the area.
The palliatives which include food items, cash gifts and COVID-19 preventive materials were targeted mostly to women to assist the state government alleviate the plight of the less privileged people in the area.
Speaking during the relief materials distribution, Princess Orizu regretted the hardship on the account of COVID-19 and called for more support from other privileged Nnewi people to enable the poor citizens survive the trauma caused by the pandemic.
She reminded the people of Nnewi of the need to obey all the rules and regulations stipulated by the government to avert the deadly disease.
Wife of the transition chairman noted that the situation has made it difficult for less privileged people in the society to source for their daily living which made it necessary for rich ones to respond to their plight by giving help within their reach.
The princess commended Governor Obiano’s administration for several measures put in place to curb the deadly disease.
In their separate remarks, the benefactors, Mrs Uche Ejiofor ,who is the Otolo Ward ll APGA Woman Leader and her counterpart, Mrs Felicia Achusim, the Nnewi North Woman Leader, described Mrs Orizu as a virtuous woman with a heart of gold and also prayed for her divine upliftment.
