THE Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 has condemns the failure of many Nigerians to adhere strictly to advisories regarding the lockdown relaxation.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Chairman of PTF, Boss Mustapha, stated this today during the agency’s briefing in Abuja.
According to him, close monitoring of activities since morning reveals that the level of compliance is unsatisfactory especially with regards to social distancing, and the use of masks.
Mustapha, who made the observation in his opening remarks, specifically noted that the crowds at banks and other places pose great risks.
Speaking further, while maintaining that there is a high level of violation of the guidelines, Mustapha regretted that interstate travel ban has not also been complied with. This, he stressed, does not augur well with evacuation of almajiris from different states with respect to guidelines and obedience of the rule of the ban.
He, therefore, advised that enforcement agencies do their jobs effectively and bring violators to book as well as called on security agencies not to take laws into their hands but to follow due process in carrying out their duties.
Shedding more light on the Kano deaths, Mustapha said great improvements have been made especially in manpower development.
He solicited collaboration from the state, stressing that results coming out of the state show that expected outcomes will be seen at the end of the day.
