WIFE of Governor of Anambra State and founder of Caring Family Enhancement (CAFE) initiative, Dr. (Mrs.) Ebelechukwu Obiano donated essential commodities to over 100 visually impaired and physically challenged persons.
The governor’s wife who is also known as Osodieme made the donation in continuation of CAFÉ’s commitment to cushioning harrowing impacts of the coronavirus pandemic lockdown in the state. The event took place in Aguleri, Anambra East Local Government Area.
Among items donated in the palliatives are cartons of noodles, tomatoes, salt and cereals as well as cash donation.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Mrs. Obiano said that the palliative support was intended to alleviate the pains of the restrictions upon the ravaging pandemic.
According to her, the items will be useful for the beneficiaries and their immediate families during the present emergency.
“I want you all to know that this Coronavirus is real, so you need to observe all the safety rules and stay safe. I also know that hunger is a threat to all, especially the physically challenged. This is why I am giving you this support and I hope that this would help cushion your hardship,” she said.
One of the beneficiaries, Maduka Okeke, thanked Mrs. Obiano for her kind gesture and prayed God to continue blessing she and her husband, Gov. Willie Obiano.
It will be recalled that Osodieme had earlier given palliatives to Anambra State Chapter of Association of Persons Living with Sickle Cell Disorder and Persons Living with HIV/AIDS.
