ANAMBRA State Ministry of Agriculture has commenced distribution of agricultural inputs to farmers in the state, in line with Gov. Willie Obiano’s strategy at ensuring availability of food in the state.
A statement released from the ministry indicates that a 20-Man Input Disbursement Team has been constituted to carry out the disbursement of inputs.
The statement noted that inputs available for distribution include cassava stem, maize and rice seedlings, organic fertilisers, battery cages for poultry production and bee hives for honey production.
It enjoined all local government transition committee chairmen, president’s-generals of communities and benefitting farmers to be present at various local government headquarters for the exercise to commence on April 29.
The statement, then, enjoined community leaders and farmers to wear face masks and maintain social distancing in line with state government directive on prevention of spread of coronavirus.
