Anambra COVID-19 lockdown: Gov’s aide donates food items, others to Nnewi women

SENIOR Special Adviser to Anambra State Governor on Petroleum and Union Matters, Peter Nwosu, has donated food items widows and other women in Uruagu Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government Area.

The items comprised mainly bags of rice, COVID19 preventive materials such as hand sanitisers and nose masks among others. 

  Speaking at the event, Nwosu said he made the donation in line with Gov. Obiano’s vision of touching ndi Anambra life as part of government’s strategies in cushioning effects of COVID-19. He also used the event to urge women to observe social distancing, hand washing and wearing of mask among others, adding that it is the only way to reciprocate Gov. Obiano’s efforts in the fight against the global pandemic.

  He recalled the donations as second time he has keyed into Gov. Obiano’s empowerment programmes, having donated tricycles and motorcycles to youths in his community.

  ”We are in government to serve and not to be served,” he said.
