Nurses present 100 bottles of hand sanitisers to Anambra govt
Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, Anambra State chapter, has presented 100 bottles of hand sanitisers to the state government in support of the fight against spread of COVID-19 in the state.
Secretary to Anambra State Government (SSG), Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu received the items on behalf of government at the COVID-19 Committee Room, Office of the SSG, Government House, Awka.
Addressing the association, the SSG thanked them for their kind gesture, while assuring them that government was aware of risks and challenges faced by nurses all over the world in the fight against COVID-19.
He, then, said that government would put necessary measures in place to ensure the safety of nurses and all health workers in the state at this period.
State chairman of the association, Edith Onwuka, who led the team, thanked government for its efforts so far in fighting the spread of the pandemic in the state.
She, however, urged the state to ensure total implementation of directives by government to citizens to stay at home so as to avoid distressing the healthcare delivery system.
MrsOnwuka pleaded with government to ensure the provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for healthcare workers in the state to ensure that their lives would be preserved.
She re-assured government and people of the state of their total commitment in the fight against spread of COVID-19 in the state.
