…Lauds Obiano’s Covid19 Prevention Strategies
Mr Godwin Chukwunenye Ezeemo, Chairman Orient Group of Companies has called on wealth persons in Anambra to shun political affiliation and partner with Anambra Government to create a healthy environment.
Ezeemo made the call on Friday in a press briefing with journalists in Umuchu, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra .
Ezeemo said that about 100 Anambra indigenes can pull resources together to build a state owned emergency disaster hospital and equip it with state of the art medical facilities to nip any health disaster that may occur at any time in the life of the state .
He said “ Anambra is big enough and blessed with human capacity to plan for a long term intervention against any epidemic or related matters in the state. “
“ If the wealthy persons can look beyond political affiliation or self glory, we can fix our health facilities in a manner to meet any form natural health disaster, I urge my fellow philanthropists to pull resources together for the common good of all,” he said .
The billionaire business mogul said that the coronavirus pandemic which has dealt a great blow in the economic and social well being of the people , was a worrisome issue that needed tact and team work to dispel it .
Ezeemo explained that the Federal and Anambra state governments have done greatly to ensure that people are well sensitised on the management of the epidemic since it manifested in 2019.
“ The state government through its ministry of health has advised business men and travelers from the state who does business in China to reduce their trips and hold medical checks to ascertain their health status . “
“ The government engaged the media at its peak to assist to disseminate the information and precautions to be taken now that the epidemic is out and the sensitisation has achieved a great deal as people were aware of the epidemic and got plan for its combat. “
He therefore commended the actions taken by the state government to suspend all forms social gatherings and closure of schools and provision of isolation centers in Onitsha,Awka, Nnewi and surge centers in Ekwulobia and Umueri respectively .
Ezeemo also called on traders who deal on food stuffs to follow the foot print of the federal and state governments and spirited individuals who had supported the fight against the spread of the epidemic by selling their wares at a reasonable and affordable prices to avoid another epidemic .
“ This is the time for brotherhood and charity and not personal enrichment ; people should see reasons to help save humanity and not adding to the sorrows of their fellow human beings.”
“ Social service to humanity is a doable service which one could do as a service to his God,” he said.
