Orumba South inaugurates COVID-19 team

ORUMBA South Local Government Area has inaugurated COVID-19 Intervention Team (CIT).

  They are charged to ensure that government’s directives on ways of containing the pandemic are strictly observed in the area.

  Transition Committee Chairman for Orumba South Local Government, Chief Onyegu, stated that this is the Council’s response to Gov. Willie Obiano’s call for concerted action on the fight against the pandemic.

  Speaking at the event, Onyegu gave account of deaths associated with similar pandemic, including the Spanish Flu of 1918 to 1920, adding that public health is crucial to root prevention of sicknesses.

  Onyegu also visited Ihite, Akawa Nnato and Okanachi boundary communities between Anambra, Abia and Imo States, in company of security agents and officers of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRCN) where he warned youths extorting people to desist or face the music.

  Members of the team include Member Representing Orumba South Constituency of Anambra State House of Assembly, Emma Nwafor as Chairman, Transition Committee Chairman for Orumba South Local Government Area, Chief Raymond Onyegu, as Deputy Chairman.
