NIGERIA Security and Civil Defense Corps in Imo State has locked out the Auditor General of Local Government Audit for non-payment of allowances of services the corps rendered to the office.
Addressing journalists at the gate of the office, the spokesman of
the corps who pleaded anonymity said that the Civil Defense Corps has expired their endurance, waiting too long to be paid for such services to no avail.
According to the spokesman, the officers were engaged by the office of the auditor general to restore lost peace and protect properties from being looted by forces loyal to the retired auditor general who claimed to have been forcefully retired but was recently recalled.
He said that the loss of peace came when the retired Osita Nwosu refused to hand over to his successor, Dom Edomobi, following the state government’s directive.
According to the reports, the new state governor, Hope Uzodinma was misinformed on the issue which led to the retirement that has been taken care of by recalling Mr. Nwosu to serve out his time which ends in June 2020.
This information that led to the retirement of Nwosu said that Osita has served for 41-years as against 35e years or 60 years old of government service retirement.
The report added that Nwosu was known for not obeying the service rule.
When contacted, Nwosu threatened not to hand over to Edomobi since his service years have not been completed.
