ANAMBRA State Community and Social Development Agency (ANCSDA) has successfully organised a one-day training workshop for the members of the Local Government Review Committees (LGRCs) of Oyi, Anaocha, Idemmili North and Ihiala LGAs to enhance the speedy implementation of CSDP-AF in their various local councils.
This was the third set of such trainings to be organized by ANCSDA since it became effective in the state on August 1, 2018, having undertaken such training for Anambra East, Anambra West, Ayamelum, Awka North, Orumba North, Ogbaru, Orumba South and Dunukofia LGAs last year.
A total of 34 participants were in attendance at the training aimed at building the capacity and technical knowledge of the LGRC to be able to appraise the Community Development Plans (CDPs) or Group Development Plans (GDPs) submitted by the communities and to also take part in monitoring of the micro projects (MPs) implementation in the communities.
In his opening remarks and presentations at the event, the Operations Manager, ANCSDA, Uche Nwaizugbo, who also is the lead resource person for the capacity building event, welcomed all the participants present and thanked the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano who ensured that the project became effective in the state.
Mrs Nwaizugbo advised the participants to be very attentive and participate actively in all the presentations in order to gain good knowledge for themselves and for their local councils.
The Training sessions witnessed presentations from various resource persons on topics such as Overview of CSDP-AF/CDD Concept; Fundable and Non-fundable Projects; CDP and GDP Cycles; the Roles and Responsibilities of LGAs, Local Govt. Desk Officers (LGDOs), LGRCs; Desk Review of CDP/GDP by LGDO and Review of CDP/GDP by LGRC.
Also, the Project Officer, Supervision, ANCSDA, Sopuruchi Okoli and the Communication Officer, ANCSDA, Mr Nnamdi Onuzulike, both made presentations on the various fundable and non-fundable projects under CSDP-AF for communities and vulnerable groups respectively.
In their separate speeches, a member of LGRC for Ihiala LGA, Pastor Nehemiah Amahiri while thanking ANCSDA on behalf of other participants expressed his joy at the quality of the training given to them which according to him, will be very useful in the efficient and effective discharge of their responsibilities in their local councils while another LGRC member from Anaocha LGA, Lady J.C. Obiadi, promised that they will support the project management committees of their various communities and groups to ensure that the approved micro projects were well implemented in their communities for the benefit of their people.
