IT WAS a convergence of Ohaneze Ndigbo at the first Ofala Festival of Igwe Godwin Ogochukwu Ezeilo (the Obu Nanka) in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State as he celebrates his first Ofala Festival in Nanka amid pomp and glamour.
On hand to make the occasion thick were the National Chairman of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo, who was bestowed with a chieftaincy title, former governor of Enugu State, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo, traditional rulers from Anambra and across, and other eminent personalities both at home and in the diaspora.
The occasion was marked with homage paying from Nanka indigenes including Prophet Dada Obi and other prominent members of the society .
In his ofala speech, the Obu Nanka, Igwe Godwin Ezeilo commended Nanka people for the peace, stability and progress going on in the town following their support to him.
He promised to use his weight to reach out to other Nanka indigenes in the diaspora to give the town a befitting facelift.
Speaking on the event, Chief Nnia Nwodo said Ndigbo had been passing through hardship in the Nigeria contest particularly this time, noting that Ohaneze will endeavor to correct the imbalance.
He sued for peace in Nanka, expressing appreciation for the honour done him and assured that Ohaneze under his leadership will not disappoint Ndigbo in all ramifications.
