THE member representing Onitsha South Two Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Beverly Nkemdiche Ikpeazu has reiterated her commitment towards giving the people of the constituency quality representation in the state legislature, as well as making laws that would enhance the overall development of the state and promote the general well-being of ndi-Anambra.
Ikpeazu disclosed this in an interview with National Light during her usual (2019) Christmas party for children, which held in Awka, the Anambra State Capital amidst fanfare and conviviality, and which also had over one hundred children in attendance.
While thanking God for her victory and for His blessings throughout the year; Ikpeazu who is also the Deputy Chief Whip and only female lawmaker in the House highlighted some of the things she did for her constituents within her six months of the 2019 legislative year, to include awarding scholarship to 103 constituents, enrolling 100 people into the Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme, and empowering a good number of widows, among others.
On her plans and programmes for the 2020, the lawmaker said, “I keep giving greater attention to education and health, because knowledge is power, and health is wealth.
“So, I will prioritize the two, while also giving attention to youths and women empowerment, among other programs and projects I shall be undertaking from time to time as the year rolls on.”
She further extolled the state Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, the Speaker of the House, Hon. Uchenna Okafor, and the entire member of the House for working together in 2019, while also praying for a more collaborative and harmonious 2020.
