DEPUTY Inspector General of Police in charge of the South East, Celestine Okoye has said that the police would deploy high tech Information and Communications Technologies in combating crimes and criminalities within the South East Zone.
DIG Okoye stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State.
DIG Okoye, who is also in charge of the Force Information and Communications Technology said the modern trend in crime prevention required high tech information and communications technology that would track criminals at their hideouts.
He commended Governor Willie Obiano for investing heavily in security.
Responding, Governor Obiano while welcoming the DIG, explained that he is heading one of the very important areas his administration has vested interest, assuring that ndi Anambra will sleep with their two eyes closed this yuletide. The state Commissioner of Police, CP John Abang, who restated his commitment to supporting the governor, said that the high tech surveillance equipments procured by the present administration has all been deployed, stressing that Anambra is the only state in Africa where such equipments are used.
