Court refuses order against Edo APC faction

AS THE war of attrition rocking Edo Chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) festers, a Federal High Court presided over by Justice A.A. Deemi-Ajayi in Benin, yesterday, refused to grant an order restraining David Imuse from parading himself as chairman of a faction to the political party.

Justice Deemi-Ajayi refused to make the order while ruling on interlocutory application that sought to restrain Imuse pending the determination of a suit in FHC/B/CS/133/2019.

According to her, all motions relating to the matter should be presented together on December 10 after which a ruling could be made.

It would be recalled that 11 of the 16-member State Working Committee had signed a removal notice on Ojezua as state chairman of the party. But this was met by a counter suspension of Gov. Godwin Obaseki and two other bigwigs.

However, reports indicate that two signatories to the notice later said they were forced to sign at gun point.
