Group honours UNIBEN VC

SOCIO-CULTURAL organisation under the aegis of ‘The Benin Campus Group,’ University of Benin has honoured the Vice Chancellor of the School, Professor Faraday Orumwense with award of excellence as part of her activities marking the 2019 Anniversary, which is also coincides with the fifth anniversary of the outgoing Vice Chancellor, whom the group maintained has brought great development to the school.
Some other awardees include Prof. J. Ehiorobo, Prof. S.N. Ogbomwan, Dr. W.A. Iguodala, Prof. Uyiekpen Ogbeide and Prof. Efosa Oviasun, amongst others, whose valuable contributions were recognised.
The event which was held at the Uniben Indoor Sports Hall attracted dignitaries from home and in the Diaspora, including the chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Edo State Council, Comrade Roland Osakue, former Vice Chancellor of the school, Prof Oyuki Oshodin.
Chairman of the occasion, Prof. Oveseri Abueku said in his opening speech that the yearly event of the Benin Campus Group was put together to celebrate members and as well, commend members for contributing to the development of the Benin race.
On the other hand, co-ordinator of the Benin Campus Group, Dr. F O. Osadolor, said the group is essentially indigenes of Benin race who are working in Uniben.
