Onowu Abacha celebrates New Yam

IT was a unique event on Sunday as family, friends and well wishers gathered at the palace of Chief Paul Nweke Omaofia in Abacha, Idemili North Local Government of Anambra State, to celebratehis 2019 New Yam Festival.
Chief Omafia stressed that new yam festival  affords the people opportunity to come together to showcase their rich cultural values and commended Governor Willie Obiano for his purposeful leadership.
He described Abacha  as peace loving community that always do things in one accord which make the town a prestigious one.
He  encouraged the people, including youths to embrace farming, instead of waiting for political Jobs.
Chief Omaofia maintained that new yam festival was like the Biblical injunction of bringing first fruit and offering sacrifices before consuming it.
