Catholic priests urged to emulate Pope John Paul II
A former Chancellor of the Awka Catholic Diocese, Very Reverend Monsignor John Paul Nzomiwu has charged Cardinals, Archbishops, Bishops, Priests and the Ordained in the Catholic Church globally to emulate the life of St. Pope John Paul the second in the discharge of their sacred duties.
Monsignor Nzomiwu in a press interview in Awka reacted to the varied incorruptible remains of the Late Catholic Supreme Pouti) who died in 2005 and whose remains were publicly displayed in Rome.
According to the cleric, Pope John Paul the second lived an exemplary life of love, poverty, charity, forgiveness and holiness which pose a great challenge to his fellow priests.
He felt highly allotted for being a catholic priest and for God manifesting Himself through this act o f miracle which confirmed God” promise that He will be with His church till the resurrection day.
Speaking on the growth of the Awka Catholic Diocese, Monsignor Nzomiwu who was the ‘first chancellor of the diocese, expressed delight that the church has grown with many priests, infrastructural developments like the new St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, St. Patrick’s College, among others.
The cleric felicitated with the Bishop of Awka Catholic Diocese Most Reverend Dr. Paulinus Ezeokafor on his 2019 pastoral visit to the catholic parish.
