ANAMBRA was filled in ecstasy and glamour as they welcomed the father of modern day democracy,former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, who visited the state recently to celebrate the life of a great man and philanthropist, Chief Anthony Chukwuka Iwenjiora, the father-in-law of the former Vice President and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Governor Obiano, who was represented by his deputy, Dr. Nkem Okeke, at the occasion, welcomed all the dignitaries who came from far and wide,  and extended his condolence to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on the death of his father-in-law. He prayed God to bless and protect all who came to mourn with the Iwenjiora family.

In his goodwill message,former President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, said the event was a solemn celebration of the glorious exit of a noble man who had worked so hard, built a business empire, and played a key role in the society as a good father and a traditional ruler. He also appreciated Lady Jennifer Douglas Atiku Abubakar, whose deceased father brought all together.

On behalf of the Imo community, Governor Emeka Ihedioha sympathised with the wife of his boss Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and extended his good wishes to all who came from far and near, praying God to grant them all journey mercy to their various destinations.
