THE remains of the Late Sir Anthony Okigbo, a member of Knight of St John International was committed to mother earth amidst tears.
The burial, which was taken over by Knights of St John International and sections of their members from Aba in Abia State, joined their colleagues from his mother Church, Umubele, Awka at St John and Paul Catholic Church, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
In a requiem mass, the officiating Priest, Rev Fr Kingsley. O. Ibe gave, “Our Home is in Heaven” as the theme of his Sermon, saying that we are all visitors on this earth and that people will make every effort to go there and meet with their maker. He highlighted Several things that one have to Imbibe on this life and reminded the people that for any person to be chosen. he must bear heavenly mark and further urged the people to prepare their ways while alive and choose for themselves where to spend their eternity ,
Describing his brother as his backbone, the eldest brother to the deceased, Chief Ndubuisi Okigbo, who spoke on behalf of the family, highlighted so many positive things about the demise of Sir Anthony Okigbo. “When I heard of the demise of my brother, it came to me as a shock. The Chairman Tonimas Oil, Chief Anthony. O. Enukeme and the head of Knights of St John International that came for the burial, said the deceased was their business associate and a practicing Catholic.
Daughter of deceased, Miss Sonia Okigbo, described her father as a hard working man, kind hearted, peaceful and prayerful, cheerful, generous and also encouraging.
