Akabuike to chair Anambra School of Health Board
COMMISSIONERS in Anambra State have been charged to continue to provide effective strategies and policy templates that will keep the state on the lane of sustainable development.
Gov. Willie Obiano gave the charge during the swearing in of Dr. Vincent Ogochukwu Okpala as the new Commissioner for Health in Anambra State. Also sworn were Mr. Douglas Okafor as the new Managing Director of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, (OCHA) Brigade and Air Vice Ben Chiobi (rtd.) as Special Adviser to the Governor on Creative Security.
Speaking further at the ceremony that took place at Executive Council (exco) Chambers of Government House Awka on Tuesday, the governor described the outgoing commissioner and managing director as go-getters and encouraged the newly sworn in officers to emulate their commitment to service.
Gov. Obiano commended the outgoing Commissioner of Health, Dr. Joe Akabuike, for his cutting edge strategies in the area of disease control and containment, urging Okpala to cue from him.
Responding on behalf of his colleagues, Dr. Okpala pledged to give all it takes to make their appointment a huge success by taking off from where his predecessor stopped to make Anambra the best state in disease control in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, Gov Obiano has appointed former Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joe Akabuike as the new Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Board of Anambra State School of Health Technology, Obosi.
