EBONYI State Governor, David Umahi, yesterday, issued a two-day ultimatum to former commissioners, and other former political appointees to return all vehicles and properties that belong to government still in their custody
Umahi issued the warning through a press statement signed by Permanent Secretary-designate in charge of protocol, Mr Austin Udude.
He charged ex-commissioners and all other political appointees, who served in his last administration, to do themselves good by submitting the vehicles and other properties in their possession on or before today, June 13.
According to him: “They are expected to submit the vehicles and other properties to the Permanent Secretary Designate, Government House, Abakaliki.”
He noted that it is a criminal offence for an appointee to vacate office and still retain government property.
“His Excellency the executive governor of the state, has not
authorised anybody to keep government’s vehicle or property. The affected officials should comply accordingly,” he stated.
