Spurs table £60m for Ndombele
TOTTENHAM have stepped up their efforts to sign Tanguy Ndombele by offering Lyon £60million.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino wants to strengthen the squad he took to the Champions League final and the 22-year-old midfielder is seen as the perfect signing
Mauricio Pochettino wants the midfielder and the club will prioritise him before pursuing other deals, though they face competition from Juventus.
The 22-year-old was also wanted by Manchester City before they switched their attention to Atletico Madrid’s Rodri.
A source at the French club ‘believe that Tottenham are serious about pursuing a deal for Ndombele this window’.
Lyon signed Ndombele from Amiens for £7m last summer after he spent the 2017/18 season on loan and Spurs see him as a long-term replacement to Mousa Dembele.
Dembele was loved by both Pochettino and the White Hart Lane faithful, but left for Chinese side Guangzhou R&F in January.
Lyon, meanwhile, are willing to cash in for the right price.
In addition to Ndombele, Tottenham are also looking at Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon, Leeds’ Jack Clarke and Real Betis’ Giovani Lo Celso.
Ndombele has broken into the France team and is seen as a central midfielder who can carry the ball forward with his strength and strong dribbling.
