Early detection vital to proper care of Asthma – Experts



A CONSULTANT Health Physician, University College Hospital , UCH, Ibadan , Mayowa Olusoji has described the Asthma illness as preventable and curable.
Prof Olusoji stated this during a walk to mark this year’s World Asthma Day, held on Tuesday, by the Nigerian Society for the Asthmatic, UCH, Ibadan.
World Asthma Day, which was celebrated on May 7, has its theme as “Stop for Asthma”.
Prof Olusoji said with appropriate measures in place, asthma would be suppressed if detected early enough.
Also speaking, Mrs. Grace Adekoya who is the Assistant Director of Public Health Nursing, UCH, identified incessant coughing and extreme reaction to inhalation of dust as some symptoms of the ailment.
Members of the association carried various inscriptions indicating that asthma could be properly managed.
