FGN/IFAD Value Chain Development Programme, VCDP Anambra State has commenced verification exercise of participating local government councils of the programme.
The verification was to ascertain the validity of beneficiaries (Farmer Organizations) whose business plans have been approved for inputs disbursement for the 2019 wet season farming.
Speaking during the verification exercise at Orumba North and South LGAs, the state Programme Coordinator of VCDP, Nnamdi Emmanuel Agwuncha, said the verification by the national office team was to ensure transparency for disbursement of inputs to farmers.
Mr. Agwuncha said it had been a routine to ensure that the inputs get to the real farmers without bias or prejudice.
Also, the National Agric Production Adviser (APA), Dr. Chika Unamma, represented by his assistant, Nura Lawal, while addressing farmers during the exercise said it was a necessity to ascertain the realistic number of profiled farmers to enable the programme plan disbursement of inputs to ensure accuracy on implementation.
