THERE are indications that President Muhammadu Buhari would deliver his inaugural speech on June 12 as part of activities to mark 20th anniversary of the nation’s nascent democracy.
A presidency source said that this was the reason why President Buhari did not will deliver his inauguration after his swearing in at Eagle Square, Abuja yesterday.
It will be recalled that the Federal government had shifted major events for the president’s inauguration to June 12, to mark the swearing in ceremony of the president and his vice, Yemi Osinbajo in low key.
The oath of office was administered on them by the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad.
The source said the president’s inaugural speech was not meant for the swearing in right from planning.
