DIRECTOR-General of Anti-Piracy Society of Nigeria (APSON), Frank Uduonu has thanked the state government for giving them support to operate at any angle.
Uduonu, who made this statement during a tour of APSON at Oba and Obosi in Idemili North and South LGAs, explained that why governor gave his approval for their movement was to let its members understand that whatever the organisation is doing,, government is behind them and is fully in support of their activities.
He appreciated Governor Willie Obiano for his efforts by giving APSON a platform to operate through the Ministry of Information and Public Enlightenment, Ministry of Education, adding that these ministries have insisted that Anti-Piracy must survive in Anambra State
The DG also disclosed the aim of the visit in the various zones in the 21 local government area of the state was to discuss issues and challenges facing each zone.
Earlier in his opening speech, the Idemili South Coordinator, Ndubuisi Maduekwe assured that visiting his community would bring new changes and understanding in their responsibilities towards the aims and objectives of APSON and to the group.
In his contribution, the President-General of Oba Development Union, Godfrey Onyejekwu explained that Oba community would do their best to produce positive result in all they do.
The PG charged APSON to live up to their task like the late Dora Akunyili and advised them not to be tired of fighting piracy out from the country.
Representative of the Youth President of Oba, Ikechukwu Eziukwu said that Oba community was a peaceful area and like to follow up with policies whether private or government driven policy that would ensure sanity in the system, promising to support whatever activities as long as it is within the ambit of the law.
Highlight of the occasion was the distribution of Anambra State calendar to the zones and election in some offices.
