POETS In Nigeria (PIN), an association of poets and poetry enthusiasts in Nigeria, is set to hit Awka, the capital city of Anambra State tomorrow, May 17, with the second edition of her Poetry Slam.
The host of the event and Lead Rep, PIN, Awka Connect Centre, Miss Chisom Udeoba, made this known in Awka while speaking with National Light.
According to her, the event is slated to take place at the auditorium of Prof. Kenneth Dike Central E-Library, Awka, along Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, and will feature spoken word poetry, music performances, art, and word battle, among others. She expressed optimism that the event will bring together established writers, budding poets, literary and art enthusiasts from within and outside the state.
She further noted that the first edition of the event, which is the first poetry slam in the state held in November, 2018, at UNIZIK FM Hall in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has recorded a maximum measure of success.
Reiterating her call for maximum participation of Ndi Anambra and poetry enthusiasts in the event, Chisom said:”We had earlier made calls for students from various institutions in the state to attend the event, with the aim to permeate every part of the state with the love for literary activities; and we strongly believe attendance shall be greater than what it was in the previous edition”.
