ANAMBRA State Government is to launch the second phase of ‘Operation kpochapu ‘in the next three weeks.
Governor Willie Obiano stated during a meeting of the State Executive Council at the state Government House, Awka.
The operation which is spearheaded by the Police also integrates inputs from sister agencies in the state to combat crime.
Governor Obiano who acknowledged the huge successes recorded in the first phase of the operation and the synergy it had engendered among security agencies in the state, said the second phase will be launched with special security equipment to make crime fighting a whole lot easier.
On the recent arrest of a suspect in connection with the murder of President General of Nimo, Governor Obiano said it goes a long way to reflect the emphasis his government places on security of lives and property of ndi Anambra and to sound a note of warning to criminals that Anambra is ‘a no-go’ area.
The governor urged youths in the state to take advantage of the opportunities his government has created for them through its agricultural transformation initiatives to make a living, warning them against indulging in crimes.
