NIBO is a town in Awka South LGA, Anambra Central Senatorial District, Awka North/South Federal Constituency and Awka South II State Constituency.
It has an estimated population of 307,000. The traditional ruler of Nibo is HRM Eze Ugonwanne (Dr) Sir M.C Ngene JP KSP, FCA, MNIM. Ezeike IV Nibo.
Nibo has a town union founded in 1965 with a civic centre complex. The current President-General of Nibo Town, an engineer, is Chief Innocent Akunne.

Quarters and villages: Nibo has four quarters and 31 villages as will be shown in the brief history of Nibo town.
The principal traditional shrines identified in Nibo are (i) Ana Nibo (ii) Ngene Ezeoye (iii) Ngene Eke (iv) Isiogwugwu. Some remarkable cultural and traditional events or ceremonies in Nbo are Ezeike Nibo Day Celebration, New Yam Festival and Onwa Asaa Festival, all annual festivals, including Onwa Asato, Okpukpoeke festivals.
Nibo parades great masquerades like Idu, Ijele and Ugo. All are first class in Anambra State.
Nibo today can boast of basic health facilities such as community hospital, maternity, health centre, posts and pharmaceutical stores.
In education, Nibo is endowed with vocational training institutions, secondary schools, commercial secondary school, primary and nursery schools.
Nibo boasts of police presence and town vigilant group who provide adequate security to its citizenry.
Industries and banks are all sited in Nibo. Among them are GMB Micro Finance Bank Ltd. Sun shine breed Industry, Prof. S. S. Okeke electric bulb industry, ice pack, pure water industry.
The basic source of water to the communities are underground spring water, streams, river and borehole.
The people are predominantly farmers, public service, businessmen and transporters.
Power supply is not regular. They enjoy electricity few hours in a week despite the fact that a sub power station is located in Nibo. Businesses that strive in Nibo are local farm products, hospitality, business, electrical, motor parts. The people of Nibo are scattered all over Nigeria and in Diaspora in search of business.
Nibo has an erosion problem located in Owalagba erosion site, Agbawa, Ezeawulu/St. Marks Road erosion site, Umunono erosion site, Umuewechi erosion site.
Some personalities that ring bell in the town notable for various achievements and heights attained in the society are: HRM Eze Ugonwanne (Dr) Sir M. C. Ngene (JP) Ezeike Iv Nibo, Chief Dr. Innocent Akunne, P.G. Nibo and Philanthropist, Hon. Obi Nwankwo – Commissioner for Power and Public Utilities, Chief Okwy Ogbuefi – MD Trig Point Hotel, Nibo, Chief Emeka Okeke – Real Estate Developer, High Chief Emeka Okonkwo.
Post humus: Engr. B. O. C. Ubosi- attracted the electricity sub-power station in Nibo, Chief Willy Chine – A district officer & worked with the white man, Chief Ugorji Ekwunife – He was a philanthropist with a golden heart, Chief Aaron Ezekwe – He was a warrant chief & later became Ezeike II of Nibo, Chief Joshua Nnamdi – He was a warrant Chief, a good man-mobiliser and politician.
