Holy week, climax of Christ’s passion – Ven Agba
HOLY week has been described as the climax of lentern period.
The Administrative Secretary for Anglican Diocese of Nnewi, Goddy Agba told our correspondent from his bishop court’s office in Nnewi that Lent signified the 40 days fasting and prayers Jesus Christ undertook to prepare for His passion to redeem mankind from the shackles of sins.
Ven Dr Agba said that Jesus was not tired of His earthly ministration but was obedient to God’s will hence the death on the cross to cleanse man’s sins and obscure ancient creed of worship.
Good Friday, he said, remained good because it was a day Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross to tree stains of sins the world imbibed before his coming.
On the Resurrection of Jesus Christ on the 3rd day after Good Friday,. called Easter, he said it remained a celebrating Sunday for Resurrection of Jesus.
He did not forget to remind Christians that the period calls for sober reflection, and urged christains to reconcile with their fellow human beings no matter the enormity of their offiences.
