A GROUP known as Advocacy Network of Nigeria (ANN) has enjoined Nigerians to embrace family planning for realisation of Sustainable Development Goals.
This plea was made by the chairman of the group, Sheikh Salahudeen Busari during an interactive session with Oyo State Correspondent’s Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Ibadan.
Busari underscored the importance of family planning, saying that without it, Sustainable Development Goals would not be realised. He opined that family planning was necessary for a comfortable life, adding that if quality life was needed, the society must advocate for family planning.
The Chairman of ANN said that countries like China and Japan fashioned ways of controlling their population. According to the chairman, with family planning, population growth can be monitored and maternal mortality reduced.
While calling for collective efforts toward positive propagation of family planning in the country, he charged journalists to assist in the advocacy sensitisation.
In her remarks, secretary of the association, Mrs Adekiitan Adeagbo called on religious and traditional rulers to educate their people on the importance of family planning.
