THE Chairman, Board of Directors of Anambra Motors Manufacturing Company (ANAMMCO), Godwin Ubaka Okeke has said that the company decided to go into partnership with Chinese Motor Manufacturing Company, DONGFENG to bring world class services to Nigeria.
Chief Okeke, who is also the Chairman of GUO Transport Company, spoke to our correspondent at the company’s stand during the on- going 30th Enugu International Trade Fair. He said that he took over ANAMMCO when the company was in crisis but has been able to bring it to life as a leading Nigerian Commercial Vehicle Company.
He said that the company came to the trade fair to showcase the DONGFENG Trucks, which he described as the best in the world. According to him, everything needed to put the company back to its list glory has been put in place.
He blamed some expatriates who came and duped the country in the name of oil deals for the country’s economic problems.
The ANAMMCO boss enjoined governments at all levels in the country to patronize their vehicles, pointing out that all ANAMMCO trucks are durable with available and affordable spare parts. “The fuel economy of our vehicles is second to none and that is the kind of vehicles Nigerians need at this time”.
Chief Okeke however, made a strong case to the Central Bank for the release of the much needed foreign exchange for the company to procure the material to make the company a huge success.
Managing Director of the company, Maduabuchukwu Okeke, who also spoke during the interview explained that officials of ANAMMCO toured 17 cities in China and tested many trucks before settling for DONGFENG, because of its special qualities. He urged Nigerians to patronise ANAMMCO vehicles, promising that it will definitely give them the value for their money.
Financial Director of the company, Adewale Folowosele, was among the top management staff of the company at the fair.
