Obiano’s beautifying Anambra – Atogu
MANAGING Director, Leisure Parks and Street Beautification Agency, Ify Atogu has said that her agency was working assiduously to beautify all major cities in Anambra State to improve the state’s aesthetic beauty and enhance its tourism potentials, courtesy of Governor Willie Obiano.
In a press statement issued in her office in Awka, Lady Ify said that in addition to the agency’s beautification of Upper Iweka and Inosi Onira in Onitsha, as well as Government House, Awka, and the vicinity of Psychiatric Hospital, Nawfia, great works of beautify was currently going on at Aroma within Awka Capital Territory, and posited that when fully completed, Anambra indigenes and visitors alike will avail themselves of more recreational facilities to have rest, cool off after the day’s work and long journey, and at the same time, shore up the state revenue base.
She described relaxation as vital to good health and sound mind and one that can boost productivity, and commended Governor Willie Obiano for his robust policies, and his administration’s human capacity building programme that have enhanced quality service delivery of workers of all categories in Anambra State and brought rapport and mutual understanding between him and the state labour force.
On the governor’s one year of his second tenure in office, Atogu described it as a period of more giant strides and developmental thrust and one that has brought unprecedented development in all facets of the state economy.
The Leisure Parks and Street Beautification Chief Executive pointed out that whereas some governors would relax in their second tenure having no more election to contend with, Governor Obiano immediately after being sworn in for the second term, swung into action, inspecting over 45 projects, deepening the state security apparatus and enhancing the welfare of workers, as well as mapping out robust strategies to dish out more dividends of democracy to the people.
According to Lady Atogu, Governor Obiano’s administration has brought relief to the people; relief in terms of peace and stability prevailing in the state since the inception of his government on March 17, 2014, relief in economic progress and relief in the ease of doing business. She said APGA’s sweeping victory at the recently concluded House of Assembly election to clinch 24/30 success was a clear testimony of the love ndi Anambra have for the governor and his style of leadership.
She called for total support for the governor from the state citizenry to enable the high tempo of development witnessed in the state to go on unabated and predicted brighter future for Anambra.
