Obiano condoles Onitsha accident victims

Sets up investigative panel

GOVERNOR of Anambra State, Willie Obiano has commiserated with the families and victims of Onitsha fire accident at Upper Iweka Road, Onitsha, in Anambra State.

The explosion, which involved some vehicles included a patrol tanker laden with 33,000 litres of kerosene   occurred on Wednesday, March 13  at about 4PM, killed seven persons and injured about 14 persons.

In a press released signed by Commissioner for Information and public enlightenment  C-Don Adinuba ,stated that the number one citizen of the state has directed that the surviving victims be given proper medical attention.

Gov. Obiano has also set up a penal to investigate the cause and causes of the accident and adviced Ndi-Anambra on measures to take to avoid similar occurrence.

The panel which will be headed by Honorable Commissioner of Transport   also had  the Commissioner for Health, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, the Commandant of the Anambra State Traffic Management Agency, the state Commandant of the Federal Road Safety Corps and a representative of the Nigeria Police Force. The members will submit their report within one week.
