Obiano to construct more roads



ANAMBRA State government has promised more road projects in the second tenure to open up the rural areas where we have farm settlements, so that agricultural products can be moved to the urban market for people to buy, sell and export.
During the recent inspection on the ongoing road construction at link road Enugwu-ukwu. The Deputy Governor of Anambra,. Nkem Okeke who expressed delight over the progress of work done so far, also assured ndi- Enugwu-ukwu that link road would certainly be completed.
“As you can see, most of the earth work is done, what remains is to do the stone base from Nkwo to the express road, which is virtually completed. The gullies and vallies need to be protected to avoid any issue of erosion taking place” Okeke said.
The deputy governor having commended the contractor for his speed, urged him to continue on the same pace so that before the rain starts, the road would have been asphalted, for people to use during the rainy season.
“Abagana bye-pass is already having a lot of issues. This would create assess roads to Nri, Amawbia, Nawfia, Awka, and  take care of traffic” Okeke said.
Dr. Okeke also said that he is quite happy that this is happening in this administration. “This road has been there for many years but no administration touched or even looked at it, but now it’s being done under Obiano’s administration” he informed.
Contributing, the contractor handling the project,. Okoro Emmanuel said that they have gone a long way in solving most of the challenges. Though the terrain and weather condition hves not been welcoming, but we have done a lot in trying to solve the problem”.
“The state government has played a good part in funding the project. Although there are still some outstanding payment for us to come to 100 percent within a couple of weeks” Okoro said.
The contractor who said the road is about 6km, also assured the state government of delivering the project in the next four weeks, if more money is released.
