CONSIDERING the hypes and fizzles of the buzzing political moments, star actor cum director turned political figure, Desmond Olushola Elliot has won the elections for his Surulere Constitutuency at the last Governorship/House of Assembly elections that took place in the states of the federation.
After the conclusion of the elections on Saturday, 9th of March, 2019, the Independent National Electoral Commision declared Elliot as the winner of the constitutuency, Surulere 1 in Lagos State.
According to the Returning Officer, Dr. Bolajoko Dixon-Ogbechi, Elliot emerged winner with 15,357 votes under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), followed by the People’s Democratic Party candidate, Benjamin Olasunkanmi.
Recall that Elliot switched his tentacles from screen to the House of Laws in 2011, making him the first Nigerian entertainer to play active politics. He has since become an epitome of good governance and integrity.
