THE 61st Grammy Awards is set to hold in the coming week. It is slated to take place on 10th February, this year at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles, USA.
The Grammy Awards is recognized as the biggest music awards to be achieved by any musical artiste. The nominations for all categories were announced last December which included recordings released between the months of October 2017- September 2018.
Preparations for the ceremony come with what is termed the ‘GRAMMY Week’, which will officially begins on February 7. Each day, different events will be be featured until the D-day being Sunday.
Recall, that the very first Grammy Awards ceremony was held in the year 1959, while the first of its kind to be televised was the 13th edition in 1971.
Outgoing President /CEO of the Recording Academy, Neil Portnow, spoke on the level of preparations for the award night;
“We are delighted to host the world’s premier music event….. And look forward to celebrating the remarkable musical contributions made by songwriters, producers, engineers, mixers, and recording artists.”
The upcoming event will be hosted by 15th time Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys.
