Several groups from Onitsha South Local Government Area in a town hall meeting at Onitsha Recreation Center, have endorsed the candidacy of Lynda Chuba Ikpeazu of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to represent Onitsha North and South at the Federal House of Representative.
Groups that participated in the town hall meeting and endorsement for continuity of Ikpeazu who is their incumbent representative include Town Union executives of Odoakpu, Woliwo, Housing and Fegge communities.
Others include Street Traders Associations, landlord’s associations, Onitsha South Elders Forum, Housing Estate Vigilante, Port Harcourt Road Keke Riders Association, Silver & Gold Ladies, retired teachers, Odoakpu Youth Forum, among others.
Speaking during the town hall meeting, chairman, Onitsha South Elders Forum, Chief Sylvester Ezeokenwa, extolled the achievements of Ikpeazu, describing her as ‘Madam projects’ who has attracted many democracy dividends to the constituency.
Moreover, PG Odoakpu community, Chief Annie Ekunie said that their union was not partisan but has decided to endorse Ikpeazu due to some roads construction which she attracted.
“The roads constructed with flood/erosion control include, Williams Street, Ogalonye Street and Mbonu-Ojike Road,Fegge, still under construction. Provision of eight electricity transformers, construction of classroom blocks at Obi Okosi Primary School, Fegge”, he said.
Chairman, Landlord Association, Fegge Layout, Chief Mike Ide Orjiakor, urged people to vote for Lynda to continue her good works because she built skill acquisition centers where youths are trained and empowered regularly.
The Chief Security Officer, Housing Estate, Mr. Julian Ikeanyianwu, recounted other achievements of Ikpeazu to include provision of hospital equipments at children’s unit, sinking of bore holes and sponsoring some major surgeries all at General Hospital, Onitsha
Reacting, Ikpeazu urged them to renew her mandate to enable her complete the projects on the pipeline and continue sponsoring numerous bills at the floor of the national assembly.
Ikpeazu also told her teeming supporters irrespective of their party affliation to support the Igbo agenda to get power at the center come 2023.
