GOVERNOR Willie Obiano has said that APGA remained the party to beat in the coming 2019 general election.
The governor stated this during a thank you rally to the people of Onitsha South and North Council Areas, being his first rally in the areas after the last election in the state.
The governor, who was recieved at Achebe Stadium, Fegge and Chuba Ikpazu Stadium, Onitsha, by APGA faithful and candidates, said that a vote for the party was not lost as it had remained people-oriented in its programs and policies. He said that the party’s manifesto was one that has root to the Igbo agenda, canvassing for support.
The Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Oye, pointed out that the party has come to stay, calling on ndi Igbo to remain vigilant during the forthcoming election, to ensure that their votes count.
The state Chairman of APGA, Sir Norbert Obi, called on ndi Igbo to forge a united front and voice out their fears and aspirations under APGA, to save the region from marginalisation and other challenges bedeviling the people of the South east.
Presentation of APGA flags to candidates contesting for different positions in the council areas formed the high point of the event.
