MUCH expectation comes with New Year, even as people reflect on the preceding year. No two years are the same; neither carry same magnitude of occurrences. The year 2019 is much here with us and as it has become the tradition in Nigeria with arrival of the New Year, people expect prophecies from men of God concerning what the year holds.
Not everyone gets excited about the New Year and some never believes in prophecies about the year but this annual tradition has come to stay. Even some Nigerians who claimed the 2018 prophecies never lived to expectations still looked up to it. Every year, the prophecies come with its attraction – some shocking, others unbelievable news of what to expect.
On what to expect as the year unfolds, the Founder and Senior Pastor of the Omega Fire Ministry, OFM, Auchi, Apostle Johnson Suleman, prophesied that “Nigeria’s general election, scheduled for February, would be 100 percent rigged. On the foreign scene, he said Donald Trump, the United States’ President, would lose his second-term bid and that China will openly confront America.
Addressing church faithful and those that watched across the globe, among other prophesies, he foresaw a major breakthrough in the cure for HIV and foresees an Igbo Presidency in 2023, “but they must not have any deal with present Government.” He sounded the warning that the Almighty God is unhappy at the continued detention of El-Zakzaky, the outspoken head of Nigeria’s Muslim Movement.
Nigerians should expect more hardship was the prophecy, the Spiritual Director, Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria, (AMEN), Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, handed out in his prophecies for 2019. “Nigerians should pray hard to overcome impending unimaginable difficulty this year. The nature of difficulty the country was going to face was such that has not been “witnessed in its 58 years of existence.”
The Founder and Senior Pastor of Champions Royal Assembly, Abuja, Bro. Joshua Iginla said he was worried about what God showed him concerning 2019 elections Addressing worshippers at City of Wonders, in Abuja, he called for prayers for the country regarding the forthcoming elections. “The outcome of the election is what you should be worried about.
It is obvious the results will not be accepted. It is not a wise decision to resort to killings and violence as an aggrieved politician, rather the best form is to make use of the judiciary. But let’s pray that the outcome should not put this country in a snare.” He admonished that the 2019 election should not be made a “Do or Die” affair.
Any candidate former President Olusegun Obasanjo supports would win the 2019 elections, was what the General Overseer of the Christ Apostolic Deliverance Evangelic Ministry, (CADEM), Mowe, Ogun State, Apostle S. S. Aderibigbe, stated among his prophecies for the year 2019.
“God said 2019 general elections will not be peaceful, as it will not favour the ruling party. The interest of the former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, will happen regarding the presidential election. Regarding the insurgency in the North West, Boko Haram will still wax stronger, many more communities will be attacked, and they will claim more lives in 2019.”
He further revealed that God said there would be serious fire outbreak in Lagos in 2019 that will be worse than 2018, and that “two countries in Africa will fight over land in 2019 and this will be terrible. It will lead to massive bloodshed including Nigerians on peace mission. It will also defy all resolution attempts by African Union.”
Of contrary view was Prophet Christopher Owolabi, General Overseer, Christ Apostolic Church, Ori Oke Irapada, who in his New Year Day message predicted that the tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari will extend beyond 2019. ”The present leadership piloting the affairs of this great nation as was revealed to me will extend beyond 2019 and there is going to be a brighter light at the end of the tunnel, socially and economically.”
The cleric, who made the prediction during the church’s crossover night service tagged, “Seeking for Nigeria’s Democratic Sustenance Beyond 2019”, in Omu-Aran, Kwara State, decried the incessant killings, kidnappings and armed robbery, urged Nigerians to learn from their past mistakes. He also predicted a rapid socio-economic recovery for the country in the New Year, saying that “Nigerian leaders need the urgent intercession of the citizens through prayers to consolidate on the gains of government’s anti-corruption fight.”
Spiritual Leader of Christ Deliverance Ministries Inc. (CDM), Lagos, Prophet Ekong Ituen, concurred to President Muhammadu Buhari reelection. “In my revelation, it has been established that President Muhammadu Buhari of All Progressive Congress (APC) will win 2019 presidential election. You may not like him but that is the truth.”
Furthermore, “I foresee heads rolling in the power sector, as Buhari will look into the fraudulent way privatization process was carried out, some licenses might be revoked. In furtherance to my earlier prediction, former President Olusegun Obansanjo should be prayerful, he may go back to jail before he dies.”
The Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Pastor Paul Enenche, duing the 31st December 2018 crossover night service, disclosed that God revealed to him that he won’t leave Nigeria and the enemy won’t succeed over the nation.
“The enemy is fighting a lost battle. My hand shall rest on the nation, and the whole of creation is waiting my manifestation through Nigeria. The Lord told me a time will come when the farmers and herdsmen will cohabit together without any challenge. God is bringing Nigerians to a place where we can sleep well in the night with our two eyes closed.”
In his prophecies, the General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Worldwide, Dr Daniel Olukoya, described 2019 as a year of many strange happenings. Dr. Olukoya said many people trying to get rich through satanic means would be destroyed, while sexual perverts would receive a “death blow” from “sanitising agents”. The cleric said to survive 2019, Christians would require many strange prayers, which many around them might not be comfortable with.
The General Overseer, The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, said he coded prophesies for 2019 elections for fear that politicians might twist the prophecies to suit their purposes. “We have a little problem, the little problem is that in Nigeria, this is election year, and anything I say will be twisted by politicians.”
President of Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel International, Bishop David Oyedepo, declared 2019 as the year of humbling testimonies that nothing will tamper with the peace of Nigeria in 2019. ”The story of this country will be changing for the better. Nigeria shall not see any more bloodshed; there shall not be war anymore. The prince of peace will continue to dominate in Nigeria and Africa. We shall not see setback anymore. Because of the saints of God in this country, Nigeria shall remain safe.”
“This year would be a year of peace, prosperity, rest of mind and a year when the Almighty God would miraculously intervene in the affairs of the nation,” stated the president of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev Samson Ayokunle. He said this in his New Year message to Nigerians. He said that the dry bone of the nation shall rise again. He urged all Nigerians to make sure that they abide in peace without being involved in violence throughout the year, especially before, during and after the elections.
“We should all distant ourselves from electoral manipulation in whatever form. Politicians shouldn’t be too desperate to be voted into power and get involved in using thugs to cause chaos or commit electoral fraud. The military should not be dragged into the electoral process but instead, they should be allowed to face their primary responsibilities. Voters should not be intimidated and election observers should not be harassed like we witnessed in recent polls.”
The Founder and General Overseer of Zion Heritage and Miracle Ministries, headquartered in Abuja, Bishop Okwudili Eze, concerning 2019, said. “A spot-light would be cast on Nigeria from the comity of nations with a drive to come and invest massively in the nation. God is restoring Nigeria as the pride of Africa and as a voice in the comity of nations. Gifted and impact making sons of this country will emerge causing international sensation because of their impact across their fields of endeavour. The birth of a new Nigeria is here!”
