BORUSSIA Dortmund duo of Christian Pulisic and Julian Weigl have both fallen down the pecking order at the club this season. Both players have been linked with moves away from Borussia Dortmund, with a number of big clubs showing interest in signing them. But the club’s sporting director, Michael Zorc has once again put an end to the rumours, confirming that Der BVB will veto January sales for both players as they look to win their first Bundesliga title in six years.
“We will not let any important players, who are indispensable for achieving our sporting goals, leave in the winter,” Zorc told SportBILD.
He added, “I’m strongly assuming that Christian (Pulisic) will be wearing the BVB jersey in February as well.”
Pulisic is a long term target for Premier League giants Liverpool and Chelsea, with the latter hoping to sign him in the winter transfer window. The American international’s Dortmund contract expires in 2020, with an extension unlikely, he is expected to leave the club in the summer.
