A’Ibom CP declares war on robbers



A STERN warning has gone to criminals operating in Akwa Ibom State to relocate or have themselves to blame.
The new Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Musa Kimo, gave the warning after the arrest of some armed robbers, who came in from  neighboring Imo State to perpetrate their evil act.
The suspected robbers are Victor Onyekelu, 32, from Ideator L.G.A., Ifeanyi Simon, 33, from Nwangele L.G.A, Ezenwa Chibuzor, 35, Ihiete Obom L.G.A.
The suspects according to the CP, had arrived the state last Sunday and perfected plans to attack banks and prominent eateries in the state but for the agile good citizens of the state who informed the police, who swung into action and arrested them on Monday.
Briefing newsmen shortly after parading the suspects at the state Command Headquarters, CP Kimo, said that with his ‘Operation Sweep’ there will be no hiding place for criminal elements in the state.
CP Kimo commended his men for the prompt arrest of the suspects, equally thanked members of the public for partnering with the police to rid the state of the criminals.
Meanwhile, two car snatchers and three armed robbers, who came into the state to sell a car they stole in Calabar, Cross River State, have been arrested.
