Education exposes youths to better opportunities – Okeke
ANAMBRA State Government has charged all youths with the responsibility of living a better life filled with aspirations and dreams.
During the recently concluded Amichi Youth Empowerment Summit, with the theme ‘Amichi Youth Rising’, organized by Grand Africa Initiative, the deputy governor of Anambra State, Dr. Nkem Okeke, said the only thing a parent owes a child is quality education.
“If you work hard in school and get good grades, after graduation, it opens up lots of opportunities for you. Education makes you rise faster and exposes you to better opportunities,” Okeke said.
Reiterating on the victory of the golden girls who made the state and nation proud after they had won the technovation challenge, the deputy governor went on to encourage youths, saying, “you all have the capacity, stick with your goal. With the education you have been given, work hard to compete in the global world.”
Okeke, who urged the students to pick any course of their choice and be the best in whatever they do, also said “sometimes we focus on immediate gain, but it does not work that way, endeavour to do what is right, be a person of integrity, truth and honesty. Put in your effort, think big and you will surely succeed.
